I agree with Carl, just one suggestion, Please wear safety glasses when working on brake springs.
I had friend doing a brake job when spring broke and hit him in the eye costing him sight in one of them

I have spent a little time around Woodburn area, my Dad's family was from Chariton, just east of Woodburn. Still have family down there. Your personal photo is a nice aggressive looking jeep. what model is it? More pics?ï¿½ I am sure your son is willing to wait for his own piece of American history.

Would like stop & visit with you and check out your ride next time we go searching for jeep projects on the back roads of the mid-west. Have been lucky when looking around Ia City. Where are you located?

P3Ferris, Yes your one of those un-named but not forgotten jeepers who took the time to help me out with my DJ resto. The tubes you bent help get my bows back in a usable condition and I am grateful for the help.ï¿½

You've guys have done a great job with the website. Its great to have all the information we can get and with the DJ being closer to the CJ3A than any other jeep, I look forward in following alongï¿½and growing my knowledge.

On my jeeps I would have to thank so many of the members on all the Jeep boards as well as our suppliers, Walcks, KW, Rons, Bizels, Jeepsterman, NLR, Beechwood and so many others including our late friend John Krage for all their service, support and friendship.ï¿½Definitely a great fun hobby with lots of good people. Incl U FB

Thanks guys for the comments,

the m38 I take little credit for, after sandblasting everything but hood, I blew out sand and sprayed it with primer, once primer dried I came back over it with OD AJP. I didn't use any sandpaper or bondo, just paint on it.

After replacing rear panel in trailer and painting trailer the jeep looked worn, so it was repainted 2012 to get both jeep and trailer to match a little better.
On the dj,
I found a set of red hubcaps on ebay several years ago and used those until recently finding the blue set.ï¿½ I like the red, wife likes the blue.
ï¿½ ï¿½ï¿½ Of all the work done on the jeeps, painting is something I wish I could of had done by someone with more ability and under better conditions than in my shed.ï¿½ Lets just say a buffer does wonders.

Finally decided to come out of the closet and openly join the group. I don't own a CJ3A but have a couple of it's very close relatives. I own a 49CJ2A, 51 M38, 52 M100, 62 CJ5 and a 64 DJ3A. I have restored 3 of the 5 to my standards. The 62 CJ5 will never be restored. It has snowplow and halftop. It is used just a few times every winter to move snow out of the driveway. The 49 is the first jeep we purchased back in 99 and I am still trying to get it done. It was originally bought for my son but life's hinders have kept us from moving forward on it. Life permitting I hope to get it done by summer 2014.ï¿½ I don't have a 3A or 3B but would love to make room for either or both jeeps in the shed. Looking forward in using the great pool of knowledge here on the 3A page.
