Gentlemen, thanks for your observations, too %#@& cold to go out there
tonite. I have some pics in "stock jeep" part of this page titled "taking project apart"
I think water pump motor number is there. What's interesting is that
I have a 3B in the garage that has those tabs with a bottom mount radiator.
From your comments and some on the 3B page, my 3B may be on an
"early 3A frame" or 2A frame?,is that possible. more later thx again

this is my 3B

look like a 3A radiator? This was side mounted in a homemade fashion.

My PO listed this as 3A Here is the grill. How high should it be compared to [2A]?
I'm wondering which Jeep model/year had radiator mounted with two studs sitting two tabs on tube crossmember?

Does this look 3A? What/where best book/manuals to buy?

Gnome and Duffer, thx for the comments. Thinking I'll spend the $80+- on other stuff

Walck has piece to reinforce inside of crossmember. Description says it's for PTO equipped.
I will reinstall the PTO I got with this Jeep. I don't expect to do a lot of hay baling, but I'd like
to stay "correct". Shall I call Carl?

hello all, making some progress getting down to just the frame lots of gunk and rust what is best sequence to take apart Ross box, drag link, bell crank, tie rods? I have "pickle fork" what else required? thx

hello                re: rivets, hot rivets seem pretty tricky, perilous and unforgiving. my regard for authenticity is relative to the effort, expense and potential peril. i just looked at images of "plow bolts". i'd thought of them when i saw them at fastener outlet near here [syracuse ny]. they are truly a flat head, i suppose i could weld them in from behind    may go that way?     grade 8?  hmmm  i see that bolts in this area are fine thread      thx

good morning torched out crossmember to get at pto flange. crossmember wasn't too spiffy anyway and they aren't horribly pricey. how do the rivets get fastened? never thought of that trying to post pic thx

when I built the body on this cj5 frame, I knew nothing of the motor height differences.
I only knew I wanted a flat fender look. Got to the hood and realized the conflict. Solution was a cake pan.
Still plowing the driveway 30 years later. Oil pan look is cool. Sending some pics and questions re my 3A.
Please see question/ answer section.

:'( response to my post has been less than overwhelming I guess I'm wondering about the potential this rolling frame and drivetrain may represent. Also wondering if this is the best place to ask these questions. Here are the basics, anyhow.Correct me on protocol please.Motor turns/springs look ok w/ some wiggled out ends in rear?/radiator correct?/PTO/ I've replaced rear crossmember/will rehab steering with advice/someone must have backed over a stump?/

I have the parts listed prev, but no tub. As you read this, tell me, what would you do? Oh yeah, I ain't a million bucks to work with. thx
