Looking for Flatty owners from Arkansas.  I requested club info then became president.  So right now it is a one horse show.  If interested in getting together contact me at arffc_1@yahoo.com or send me a PM.  Looking for flat fender only owners or owner wannabe's.  Forming club to visit like minded individuals to swap storys, plan some activities and go to other club rally's.  I am down as president, but as we grow we can vote and make it simple.

I used JB weld for gas on the baffle rivets and pin holes and smoothed out and painted with semi gloss black enamel paint.  Inside it was OK because it had been used regularly by PO, still Holding after a year.  I was on a tight budget so a new one was out of the question.

it must work ok, mine is like that.  i will make it right one of these days.  I think mine is a rezzepa and a bendix.  I thought it was wierd my front drivers side lugs are 3/4 and the rest 11/16.

I bought a 53 chevy truck would idle great and run good for about 1000 yds and die .  changed out fuel filters even added a secound one due to paticles in fuel bowl.  Took tank out took rubber hammer to it and dumped out $35 of change covered with laquer from old gas.  cleaned tank ran like a charm thereafter.  I think you have something in the tank.

That is my newbie expertise.

I have a pretty good leak at the tranny bell housing.  I know its the seal but would a small parts kit and gasket kit fix my problem.  It shifts fine doesn't seem to have any issues other than the leak.

I had this problem with drivers side rear.  just replaced both sides since I was replacing all the brakes anyway.  I still have a front seal to put on, found out it leaked after filling steering knuckle when servicing.  When i bought my running willys I found it is best to replace the safety stuff more for peace of mind.  i still have e-brake and flat front springs.  at least I know it will stop and hold on a hill if I need it too.  I still pack  a couple of medium size arkasas rocks in back just incase.  Good luck, you gotta love stress and disapointment when working to keep these old warriors going.

Had the same problem. changed plugs, points, rotor and condenser. started great even with crappy solex.  did have a prolem with points loosening up.

Since I have a pacemaker/defib I'll have to use a torch.  I used to bend brazing rod like a snail shell the size of the hole used duck tape to hold in place then spot brazed it on top and bottom then filled it up, using the smallest amount of rod as possible then ground and sanded down smooth once cooled. I did this when in High School on my 59 chevy 1/2 ton stepside, it had several holes from old after market heavy duty bumpers. As soon as I buy another oxy/acc setup I will do it again.  My 2A has some non factory original bolt holes.  The good news is now with my PM/DF I can jumpstart my own Willys when needed.

Did you widen it some by wider tires or is the frame you built have a wider footprint.  I was wondering by converting is it top heavy?  Looks graet!!

I am lucky my wife has her daddy's 1960 Chey 3/4 ton stepside longbed we have about $12,000 in paint, new wood bed, tires etc.  But it was her daddy's that he bought new and he has since passed.  I sold my Honda 650 rincon and bought a 1946 CJ2A #72643 for $1500 with intentions of using as a farm jeep and rebuild it going forward. Every time I buy a part or due some swapping you would think I was pulling HER teeth.  If I was you 1. hide the receipts like someone else mentioned  or 2. Do all the grocery shopping and always write the check for $20-$30 over and put it in your Willys fund(she taught me that trick).  But if your wiring is holding up I would go for the duel MC safety is important in these rigs.  good luck
