Your CJ-3A Project / Re: $2000 project?

So it took a week longer but I got the Jeep. Sn 451-GB1-13408.

It looks to be pretty good shape. It looks to previously been a red color and I’m pleased with them not cutting out the tail lights original on the back. It definitely has been used in abused but considering the shape it’s in, and it runs and drives.

My question is that chain on the rear leaf springs any idea what that Is about?

I have family in the area I’m going to have a look at it for me. but I think the grill has one of those cold weather grill covers on it.

Another question wasn’t sure about yes did they have bro bars on the jeeps about age. I’m not sure when those started

So question on this. The owner didn’t seem to know much about it other than “a military era Jeep”. So it runs and has a title. Obviously it’s not military and somebody did a “paint job” but the body looks to be solid from the pics.

Would you all say 2000 is a fair price? It looks to be a 3A but I don’t know the year.

So I don’t have a willys yet, but I have been looking. Where did my addiction start? Well I wanted something that was easier to fix and loved the feeling of the open top and doors. I rebuilt a 83 scrambler sold cause it was to big to take to japan with me, had a TJ to Offroad, an 83 cj7 which I had to sell due to military pay problems, a lifted Mojito JLU for daily driving and family trips.
I now have a 78 CJ5 that I rebuilt and am now selling to get me a willys, mine that I really wanted.

I’m looking at getting a 3b and an M38 with a lot of extra parts for both. Both will be projects that need fixed to get running but I’m looking forward to it.
