Title: And hello from Southwest Missouri
Post by: GregC on January 09, 2016, 06:09:37 PM
I was introduced to Willys when my father in law gave me his 1960 truck (Old Leo).  It had spent its entire life in Nebraska and was in need of a lot of TLC.  After a lot of work, the truck turned into a pretty good driver.  Last week I picked up a companion for the old truck.  I found a 1950 CJ3A that has been in storage for the last 10 years or so. It is in much better shape than Old Leo was so I think the plan for the CJ (my wife wants to call her Old Cleo) is to get it up and running and put a frame off restoration off for a while.

Welcome aboard from the other side of the state in Southeast Missouri!  Love that Willys truck and the 3A looks like a fun project.  I went to college and took all my flight training at College of the Ozarks and love the area in and around Table Rock Lake.  One of my favorite memories is flying around the Ozarks in the fall looking at the changing trees!

Make sure to try and attend the Summer or Fall Midwest Willys reunion.  It is usually held in Jefferson City, but I believe this year it is moving to Columbia.  It is a fun event with several parts vendors.  I have had great luck finding OEM 3A parts there over the years.  Bring both vehicles!

Welcome again and lots of good info here on the 3A page!
