Title: new here from Tennessee
Post by: corpsman on February 08, 2015, 12:33:23 AM
new guy here from Tennessee.  I have just started the restoration of my 1950 cj-3a that I've owned for 8 or 9 years.  I've had several jeeps over the years, but this will be my first restoration project.  I plan on keeping it mostly stock, with the exception of adding a Kubota diesel engine, strengthening a few things, and maybe adding slightly larger tires.  thanks for having me.

Looks like you have the front bumper weight on it, any signs of farm type equipment installed at any point? I have kin near Nashville nice place. My Dad was born in a little community called Brace over near Lawrenceberg. Tennessee is just Florida turned sideways both long and narrow

no signs of farm implements.  doesn't have the PTO, either.  I will be removing that weight pretty soon.  It looks heavy.  I wonder how much it weighs??  Lawrenceburg is a nice little town.  it's full of Amish people.  I do industrial maintenance for UPS, and it requires me to travel to Lawrenceburg 2 or 3 times a year.

As Steve said - 265 lbs.
It can bring as much as a dollar per lb at a Jeep swap meet. Depends on the state of the economy. Last year was not good.

wow!  that's pretty surprising.  I would probably be interested in selling mine, if the price were that good.
