Title: New Member from VA
Post by: JeepFever on October 26, 2014, 08:59:46 AM
Hi . . Ron here from central Virginia

I joined theCJ2Apage.com a couple years ago when I started getting re-interested in old flat-fenders. I have enjoyed my trail '2A for over 20 years, and now starting a new project, '51 CJ3A. I am going try to keep it as original as possible.

A photo showing it after 10-12 years waiting to become a project.

Here is a photo of it in my driveway. I had just cut the snowplow frame off of it. It looks sad to be so beat up, but relieved to get that heavy frame removed. ;D

I remember that Willys from the 2A page.  Probably because of the unique bumper. ;)

Welcome to the 3A Page.

I was able to attach a photo, finally,  but it is an attachment at end of post,  . .   how to I insert it in the body of the message?

ie.  I would like to attach a dozen photos,  each with a description above the photo.

JeepFever,

There is a good post here, somewhere, with a good description on posting photos. For some reason, I can't find it.

Bottom line, Photobucket or similar photo hosting site is the easiest way to post multiple photos into one post. Photobucket is easy to work with.

1. Join. It's free.
2. Uploaded you photos to Photobucket.
3. Start a new post here at the 3A.
4. On photbucket they give you a few choices on the type of file you want to use. Choose the picture from your album. Choose the "IMG" option (when you click the IMG code box, it will automatically copy the image code). Go back to your post at the 3A. Right click to "paste" the code. Push the "Preview" button below the message box to confirm the photo or photos shows up.

5. Repeat the copy photo / paste photo as many times as you like.

Note: Things change a little depending on if you are using a PC vs. an IPad. Some of us have found that you have to delete part of the image code to post more than 3 photos. This is only true when I use my PC. If you run into this issue, keep all code that is between [IMG] and [IMG]...including the [IMG]s. Delete all code between [URL] and [URL]...including the [URL] at both ends of this portion of the code. It sounds more complicated than it is. Once you see the photo code it will make perfect sense.

Hopefully I'm helping. I really want to see lots of photos. We all do.

Tim

Thanks Tim!

Earlier today I was looking thru the '3A site, and came across your tub building thread. . .  wow,  great info!

While viewing the thread,  I noticed that your write-up looks like what I am hoping to do (photos embedded in text),  and your photos come from links to PhotoBucket . .   I decided that I might give that a try  . . .   you just confirmed that it might be best option.   :)

JeepFever,
Looks like you mastered the Photobucket!

Thanks for looking at my build thread. There certainly have been some challenges.

Your 3A looks like it might need a patch here or there, but for me, these are the really fun ones to watch. Looking forward to your build.

Tim
