By the way, from one newbie to another, if you know what that brass piece with a valve * at the top, located on the head at the back edge, with a hose attached, might be, I'd sure like to know. I've got one of those on the engine in my 1950 CJ3A. I thought it might be a connection for a heater, but there's no hose on mine so I can't figure out where it might have connected. Got any ideas?

Post by: Ryan_M on January 06, 2013, 06:53:57 PM: It is a valve for the heater hose. There is usually one there and another hose connection on the top of the water pump. A hose runs from each back to the heater if you have one. Most heaters were mounted to the firewall under the dash on the passenger side.
