Hi all,
No one's life is complete without being a member of all the Pages so for better or worse, here I am with a 1949 3A of sorts that may or may not run again.
Jeeps currently owned: 42 GPW, 48 2A, 49 3A, 55 3B, 68 CJ5. Only the latter two actually run* but keep thinking I should do something with the 3A. Also in the collection are 57 and 60 FC 150�s, and 51 and 57 wagons, and the remains of a couple pickups. The wagons are pretty much parts machines but both 150�s are complete and could be restored-probably by someone other than me as I am in the process of thinning the herd.
*the 3B is currently scattered all over the garage for a cam change and some rewiring for a Premier Power Welder installation.
About me: Retired geologist and old fart (67). First Jeep experience was with a 47 2A that my father bought about 1950. That is what I learned to drive in as soon as the feet could reach the pedals. It was also my introduction to both wheeling and the high country when my father took us to the Tobacco Root Mountains (SW MT) the first time in 1953 (been back there every year since). Of note, I cleaned out one of the old log garages on the place last summer and found a number of parts from that 2A.
The 2A was traded in on a 57 FC 150 (still here on the ranch) in 57 and took my driver�s test in that one in 1958 or 59. I purchased the 68 CJ5 in 69 (titled as a 69) and have had one or more Jeeps ever since. The 55 3B (purchased in 1972) is still my preferred toy, even if it has the wrong postscript. A 2012 JKU Rubicon is currently the daily driver and it too gets wheeled.
We usually manage to get the Jeeps into the backcountry 6 to 8 times each year. The wife's favorite pastime is flyfishing high lakes so the Jeep hobby is tolerated as a partial means to that end.

Duffer..... 5 CJ's, 2 FC's, a couple of wagons AND a GPW! Clearly your a man who has his priorties in order. I have to ask, how is the marrage going? Though I am sick with envy let me be the first (I think) to welcome you!

Hi Duffer,
I've seen some of your posts at the 2A. Welcome to the 3A. The beautiful Rocky Mountains. Just what the Jeeps were made for. That 3B looks good. I think they are at their best when they have some lift and big tires. It balances out the high hood.
If you have a chance, post some photos of the rest of your herd. I have started to develop a fondness for the FCs. Initially, I thought, 'What were they thinking?" But after seeing that new concept vehicle, I'm thinkin' I might have to get me one.

Welcome duffer, from one 3Ber to another. (We know each other from the 3B forum.)
I can vouch for him. He's a good guy.
Anybody with that many Jeeps and a wife is doing something right. ;)
