Title: Fuel Pump Repair Kits
Post by: Spacecrab on September 30, 2025, 03:13:31 PM
Hi guys, I need some advice if possible.

The diaphram of my original fuel pump has failed and when I look up rebuild kits I just find general kits with no real part numbers.

Many just say "AC Style fuel pump kit", can I trust that they were all so similar that these kits should fit universally?

Any advice welcome!

Spacecrab,
This would be a great topic for Scoutpilot to answer.  I think he's in the hospital for the next few days.  I had my fuel pump rebuilt with an ethanol-safe diaphragm many years ago by Then And Now.

I've read multiple posts on g503 that NOS - in this case - isn't the best.

Concerning Vendors today, I've purchased rubber parts that will harden and crack in a very short time.  So flat out trusting a well known vendor is not a guaranteed success.

Thank you guys I really appreciate it.

When I restored the '3b I think I bought the pump, it worked and I never really questioned it.

It probably didn't have Ethnol resistent rubbers & seals, I'm suprised it's lasted for the years it has.

I will check out those sellers.

Thanks RUS.  Different name of rep used, but with same site name threw me.  Since you mention Scott Pilot earlier being in the hospital, I hope he is doing well now.

I learned going to his forum.  Down at the bottom is a feature called "Shoutbox".

Checking just now, he posts that there's a 50/50 chance he goes home today.  Apparently, the coffee there is an acquired taste.
