Title: what winch?
Post by: Chuck W. on August 18, 2025, 02:39:48 PM
What would have been the original dealer installed winch option for a 1964 CJ3B? PTO or electric, or either?
Thanks!

As everything like winches were aftermarket it would depend on what a particular Dealer might have in stock or could source and what the customer ordered.

I think so too.  My Harrison heater has a date of 1956 so I consider it period correct for my '54.

Here's one page off eWillys that list some dates for some of the winches listed:

It may really depend on the dealer and also when that winch might be acquired.  When the jeep was purchased or a few years down the road.

Thanks, guys. I have always liked the old Ramsey PTO style, but I think an older Warn electric 8270 might be more period correct, plus easier to install. Food for thought....
