Update 1 September
As you might have guessed, this was my "I don't really want to sell it" price.
but, sadly, I really do need to sell it - and my '57 Station Wagon as well.
:(
So I'm open to offers. I'd love to sell the whole thing as a package and will work on delivery options as well. I hate to let it go, but I also have to be realistic, so my loss is your gain.
Make me an offer.
Some of you oldtimers might remember me. I've been absent for several years. My apologies for just disappearing - Covid had a way of doing this. Old age and Covid have pushed me to letting go of several of my favorite hobbies, among them my Willys addiction. I'm down to only two and am working on selling them.
For Sale
1954 CJ-3B clean Illinois title
Engine and complete drive train in great working condition.
Herm Overdrive.
Locking hubs on front axle.
Body is totally shot - swiss cheese. Grille is good, of course, hood is just OK, no rust or major dents. The rest is scrap. Good glass in the windshield frame.
COMPLETE Willys stamped MD Juan body kit, still wrapped - tub, tailgate, fenders, hood, windshield frame, toolbox under passenger seat.
Nice, newish steering wheel. Steering gear box has lots of slop.
Period, aftermarket turnsignal - using front parking lights.
New exhaust - manifold to rear.
Needs new master cylinder and brake lines - new cylinder included.
Needs new fuel tank - new fuel pump included.
Carb rebuild kit included.
Soft top is old, needs some seam repair - back window is cracked/broken.
Extra set of doors.
Seats are very nice, reupholstered some years ago.
Usable tires and tubes, well worn.
I installed a fold-and-tumble rear seat from a YJ. You can site mounting holes in the new tub from the ones in the old tub. The seat is not mounted at the moment.

spring shackles
axle bumpers
shift boots
fan shroud
Donaldson air cleaner - air horn and air tubes
misc switches
2 extra steering gear boxes with shaft and wheel
roll bar
2 drawbars
farm front counterweight
PTO parts when I unearth them
there's a bikini top somewhere, I'll find it.
lots of random small parts
more as I find it
Asking $8,000 firm-ish
Let's talk. Make me an offer.
Considering the body kit and overdrive and ALL the other stuff this could be a real bargain for somebody.

Scroll to the bottom for the list of improvements.
And here's a web page I put together some time ago. It's not completely up to date so compare it to the list in this post. It has pictures.

Obviously the market is not really hot these days.
I'd like to sell the 3B before winter.
I can arrange transport.
Make me an offer.

As we get older, it does get more difficult. I do hope you find buyers.
It's been a bit quieter here for some time. Are you posting for sale at other places as well?
-
No, I haven't posted it anywhere else yet.
I have a small network of friends and friends of friends who are passing the word around but no response yet.
If it doesn't sell soon, I'll be into winter storage again.

Craigslist is another good option. And a few good Facebook Willys Jeep for sale forums as well. I just sold my 62 US Navy 3B on FB. I had a lot of people wanting parts from it, only one guy that wanted it, and he ended up buying it. Only took about 3 weeks. Good luck with your selling the Jeep!

Sorry to hear that you have to sell, John, but I know how it goes. I will post a link to this thread on my CJ3B.info Facebook page.
Yes, Facebook Marketplace can work. You want to include lots of good photos, and you can put that link on other Willys FB groups.
I usually suggest that the best single place to have it posted is eWillys at http://www.ewillys.com/. They mostly post links there to Jeeps that are for sale on Craigslist, eBay and Facebook. But you can also send the listing directly to eWillys at http://www.ewillys.com/about-2/contact/.
Another easy and free place to post an ad is SellAJeep.com at https://sellajeep.com/salesaj.html
