I have a F-head engine with numbers and letters on the right lower side of the block can anyone tell me what they mean? The numbers are
806279-W-13-D-AR CUCR

806279 is the series of block
W-13 is the mold number
D no idea
AR no idea
CUCR Nickle Chromium

From previous post: ...yes it’s an F-head the numbers on the head are 4J8 1968, I do appreciate the help. Thanks again.

That serial number (starting with 4J) matches jeep engines. It will sit within the CJ3B database to give a close estimate based on other engines with serial numbers above and below. My serial number (4J 61346) is the original for my 1954. I can't see the list right now so maybe some help from our neighbors to see about where it falls.
Unfortunately, a change in carbs could have avoided the hole cut in the hood.

Thanks for the info. So my engine must be at least a 1954? I bought a china made holly 1904 carb but not had time to install it, I also ordered a new air horn so I can make some kind of air cleaner, then maybe I can repair the hood or find another one.
