Title: L 134 cylinder head stud corrosion

Hi All,
I am rebuilding my L engine and have a question concerning what to use when I replace the head studs? what do I use for the block side of the stud for corrosion protection and sealing ..I had a terrible time removing the studs from the block ..had several break and dont want to go thru that again if need be..

The generally accepted sealer for the head studs on a 134L is Permatex II the non hardening type. Coat the threads without a lot of excess then screw the studs in finger tight. Allow to set that way over night. Wiping off any excess.

When torquing the head do it in stages 25ftlbs 45ftlbs then 65ftlbs run the engine at least 20 min at operating temp then allow to cool to room temp and retorque to 65ftlbs
