Title: Bell housing different than engine plate
Post by: Mayberry on May 15, 2023, 08:48:19 PM
My bell housing doesn’t appear to match with the plate on my engine. I’ve looked and see different plates were available but does my bell housing have the right number of bolts. My input shaft is a 10 spline, so is the engine. I didn’t think to measure the input shaft length or diameter when I took the pic.

You show a photo of the bell housing and then clutch parts. The clutch parts don't care what the bellhousing or the rear engine plate looks like. But there are different bell housings (yours appears to be a later CJ-3A or M-38. The earlier 2A has a hole in the center of the starter bell for the bushing to fit into.

I meant to show the plate on the engine holes didn’t match the bell housing.
