Title: Shackle Threading?
Post by: Marla.the.V35 on October 18, 2021, 04:10:15 PM
Hi there,

I ordered/received a suspension kit a while back, but just noticed that two of the shackles are threaded all the same direction (so top and bottom are righty-tighty), and two shackles are threaded with one side being right hand, and one side being left hand.

Is this correct? The kit didn't come with any directions. Do the opposing thread shackles belong on front or back. Am I missing something, or do I have the wrong stuff?

EDIT: I should probably read up more before posting lol. From what I see, One set goes on one side, and the other goes on the other? I assume its as easy as LH threads go on left side of vehicle, and RH thread go on right side? (so, match to the lugnuts?)

I appreciate you all suffering my questions!

Correct. Although very late production 3B eliminted the LHT.
LHT will always be positioned down into the spring eye.
Right rear and Left front only.

I drew this a few years ago.  It was much easier than describing how to do it with words... ???
