I need some help in trouble shooting a back fire issue. My cj3b willys runs great at idle and low rpm while it was in the garage. Took her for the first road test. As soon as I give her more gas to increase power (slight incline) it starts back firing. Noise is so loud I'm concerned I will blow her new exhaust system. Any suggestions?

Welcomed msk.
We know nothing about the service history of your engine.
There is a small multitude of conditions that effect your trouble.
Therefore you need to follow the factory tune up sequence.
If you have a proper service manual then follow the sequence as printed.
This should get you started.....

Okay, my bad. I'll take the hit - probably should have been clearer. May need to get an administrator's help in moving this down to the Engine section.
This is where I was thinking first too. Tune up status and what you have. As we get deeper we'll know more and can help more.
