Am I seeing hardened seats on this L-head?  Factory?

I don't know much about the Allied blocks so I wouldn't be able to pick one out of a crowd.

Hardened valve seats became standard with that later era engine block.   Mid 1950's.

Could be legitimate.  I don't know that Allied would stamp the slight cylinder variations  (C,B,D,C) on the head.

I just checked my Allied block and it doesn't have any of the castings that the seller references.  I would have to say that if a guy needed to build an engine and needed a block, this would be a terrific find and a good buy.
