Hi everyone,
Could you provide measures to drill the holes for the horn bracket?
There is a new sheet metal piece on the left fender so original holes are lost.
I did some search and I came across the original location of the wiring harness terminal on the drivers fender. I also found holes for the wiring clips.
Attached some pics and one reference from Wade’s jeep
Planning to go to the garage today to drill these holes.

Your post with the attached images suggests to me you're asking where to mark/drill the holes for the horn bracket?

Okay! Based on what I'm used to seeing, you're missing probably 15 holes on that fender. It seems they get added along the way for extra "things" that get bolted on.
Here's what I have.
First the horn bracket. There are 4 holes (I don't know why since all the brackets I've seen only have 2 holes) centered over the hat channel - this location must have been chosen to provide extra support vs. on just the sheet metal fender.
Notice they aren't perfectly centered on the hat channel shoulder. I'll bet there may be differences from one jeep to the next - just as long as they are on that hat channel shoulder for mounting support. Also: Notice the wire clip just below and slightly behind the horn bracket holes.

The horn bracket holes are measured from the front edge of the fender.

To mark the back 2 holes, measure back 1 7/8" from the front holes. I think you could also use your bracket to confirm this (again probably not critical since one hole on the bracket is actually a slot for adjustment).
The image you posted is of Lawrence Wade's '55 jeep. Here's another that I sent to another member concerning the 3-post junction for wires and it just shows the first horn bolt at the very edge of the image (with the empty hole below the bolt).

(I added this as I don't see marks for the 3-post junction).
There are more holes needed for the wiring. Added: This is an image I got much later of Wade's fender showing harness along the fender:

Those extra holes I'm guessing may have been used to align the sheet metal during assembly. Additionally, if you look at the holes above that show the horn mount holes from the top - you'll notice the sheet metal holes and the hat channel holes aren't exactly lined up. This also makes me think the parts are drilled separately then aligned during assembly.

Fantastic! So much appreciated Rus. I am now at the garage getting the fender out to mark all holes and drill. Definitely I will be ok with all the details you provided. I noticed I was missing also the hole for the wiring clip in the attachment.
I hope you can help me with its location if you don’t mind.

I measured from under the fender and for that hole, I got 5" down from the corner and about in the center of that panel.

Rus, with your help I was able today to finish all the work and return the left fender holes to their position (as close as possible at least).
When I tried to locate the hole for the wiring clip in the other panel I found a small mark. Just drill there and it was easily visible that it was exactly the original spot! Thanks for the coordinates!
Added: I noted I drilled the hole for the clip near the horn bracket hole too far. :-\

Nice! Nothing like finding a hole that was filled - in its original location!
For me, it was a big task to ensure correct holes stayed. Shop workers wanted to smooth it all out.

To continue installing the horn bracket I checked my 1956 Parts List and noted the following.

The list calls for washers and nuts to studs? I guess this is a mistake from the list as I have always seen bolts to hold the bracket.

I see that now in my PM too. I also note that it lists only one Flat Washer. I have no explanation for these things. I've only seen bolts too, so I never really looked closely.
Perhaps someone with more info can add to this.

Interesting, I have the same four holes (plus some extras) in about the same place, with the same horn with only two holes in the bracket. Now I have seen photos of early horn brackets (search for images of Willys horn bracket) that had four holes. So I wonder if the fenders were drilled for the four hole bracket, but then the changed to the two hole like ours and just had two holes left over.
