Hey guys/gals. If this is old news, I apologize, but it was the first I had heard of such a thing. The question came across my computer but was described to me as a "clutch torque cable" to "keep the engine from moving with clutch use". Well, Dave Eilers of eWillys.com responded to my inquiry to our small "DJ group", and it turns out to be a "Engine Stay Cable"... as seen with the details here... http://www.cj3a.info/tech/stay.html Now you guys restoring your Willys M38 M38A1 CJ3A CJ3B may have another part to look for to be "complete". I've seen this come up a few times over the span of years. It is an unusual part that have puzzled a few owners. The beauty of having such a large network of folks, that are knee-deep in reference material, help the rest of us understand all the details.

I have a dj3a and always wondered it it had this cable.
