I just realized nobody has posted this one.
For those who live out west, this is a fun event.
It's not a giant show and swap meet like Hudson and Jeff City.
It's just a bunch of folks who have old Willys, mostly Trucks and Wagons, but also CJs and other odd stuff.

I'm going this year.
It's unfortunate but it's the same weekend as the Hudsion show and the Two Rivers rally in Illinois as well. Sigh.
Anyhow, check it out, especially you western guys.

Is anybody from this forum going to Moab next week?
-
I'm surprised there isn't an established formal flat fender event out here. I'd like to go to this but I don't have a trailer to get down there. Sad, it's only 3 ours away to.

That's what U-Haul is for!

I'm thinking about the FCT.....

Back safely from Moab.
The Rally run on Saturday was fun and a good intro for me.
I stayed an extra 5 days and worked my way up to trails with 4 (scale of 10) difficulty.
What a blast!
Already planning for next year.
It's not all Trucks and Wagons.
There was a 3B, a 2A, a couple of 5s and some new machines like my 2010 JK.
Total cost for the 10 day trip was just under $400 for gas, just under $300 for lodging (7 nights) and a couple hundred for food. Well under $1,000 for an awesome vacation. 3,700 miles and the JK averaged 17.4 mpg including all the trails in 4-Lo.
If you haven't been to Moab you need to do it. Tons of trails a CJ can do with ease.
Go in May when there aren't hordes of tourists. :)

Thanks for the update. Been wanting to do this, where did you stay? Did you eat at Eddie McStiffs? They used to have some good mex food there.

We stayed at the Lazy Lizard hostel.
Same cost as a campground but in a cabin - very nice since it rained often.
2 bunk beds
electric heater
several electrical outlets - charging phones, camera batteries and running the electric cooler
We ate breakfast at the Jailhouse and the Moab Diner. Supper once at Miguel's Mexican.
I'd stay at the Lizard again. One step up from camping - less gear and decent shower house nearby.
