Title: What is this skid plate piece for?
Post by: BobM on May 04, 2019, 09:29:47 AM
I am getting things back together. After I reinstalled the e-Brake asy, I remembered this piece that was bolted to the skid plate under the drum. I can't find any reference to it. It appears to protect the drum? It bolts to the skid plate with 4 carriage bolts. The plate is cut for the bolts. It seems like there is something missing in the back. There are two holes that appear to have a purpose. Any ideas?

That may be a piece of the "Propeller Shaft Guard" accessory. There are images of the pieces, I'll have to search around to see if I can find them.

Oh wow that's it! I also have the dealer installed air bags. This was a Jeep used for farming. It only had 43,000 miles on it. It was beat as bad as it gets however! I will take the plate out. It is the only piece I have of the shroud you have pointed out. I guess it and the air bags will go up as garage "wall art".

Thanks a lot!

It is for the grass shield!
Here's a thread with a pic of it installed and the rubber flex mount bolted to it.

Need to install bolts with rounded head down so they dont hang up on rocks too!
