Title: Welting on front fenders question...

Hi folks, I'm putting the rig back together and I am looking at my old pictures to see what was in place from original, and I do see that there was a webbing/asphalt type welting at the rear of the fenders to the tub (still have scraps of those...see pic), at the "step' area, and also on the driver side where the lower rear apron flange bolts to the frame next to the steering box bolts.... (see picture attached of that area)
BUT, was there any welting where the apron bolts to the grille, and was there any welting where the vertical brace bolts to the frame?

Seems logical there would be some there, but I don't know.

I used them wherever it seemed they would help...cuts easily and you can punch holes where needed.

Somebody used to sell it in rolls....maybe Ron Fitzgerald...I think that's his ebay listing...

Wow, that listing looks like the original stuff. I looked at Walcks but their search is not that efficient for finding what you're looking for.
It didn't occur to me to look on ebay.
In the ebay listing picture are pieces that look like they would fit between the grille and fenders.

I couldn't find it at Walck's either.

I used it under the hood latches, hood blocks, seat mounts and probably under the spare tire mount too....anywhere that metal was bolted directly to body work.

Some mentioned that the stuff may retain moisture and promote rust, but i think it's treated with asphalt or something.
 
Besides, jeeps never get wet...right?

Got mine from Beachwood.  At least for the 3B model, there is no anti-squeak between fenders and the radiator guard (grill).

Thanks guys. I may try 1/32" black rubber and see if I like the way it looks.
