Does the tranny cross member bolt on below the frame, or does it fit inside the frame rails?
Thanks,

Below the frame...
Will yours fit inside the frame?
Not a great picture but it's all I can find for now...

Thanks! I didn't measure to see if it would fit--I just tried to insert it, and I was wondering if it needed "persuasion". But putting it underneath is easier, if that's where it's supposed to be!
It's been so long since I disassembled it, I'm sure I'll have lots more simple questions like this over the next few weeks, as it goes back together.

Should have looked in my own archives before posting!

Well, there you go....and your picture is better than mine..
I took a lot of pictures...sometimes I don't know what they were for...but they are fun to look at...
And I put all the nuts and bolts in baggies and then scribbled some gibberish on them assuming I would be able to decipher them months later....

I did the same thing with the bolts and some parts thinking 6 months down the road I could remember what I was doing when I forget what I did 10 minutes ago sometimes. I just took lots of pictures and emailed them to myself for reference. That helped more than anything. Things I missed I would google and find pictures to go by. Good luck.

I have lots of pictures, too, but I didn't always take pictures where I should have. I'm expecting to have trouble reassembling the clutch and the pedals and linkages around there...
When I pulled apart the engine, transmission, and transfer case, I was very diligent about using baggies. And those (mostly) went back together without problems. But I didn't use baggies when I pulled things off the frame.
