Title: windshield frame/ tops
Post by: dat on September 02, 2014, 06:16:30 PM
OK,  not getting into why as much as if it can and will fit.

a 3a tub and frame and motor with a 2a windshield, will a 2a top and beams work?

When you say beams, do you mean the top bows?

With the 2A windshield, the 2A top will work.

I'm thinking the front bow is closer to the rear on a CJ-3A than on a CJ-2A.

Because of the shorter wheel house on the 3A? I would have figured the front bow pocket would have stayed roughly in the same place on the tub.

Dat, if that's the case, I guess you could move the front pockets forward.

I'll take a measurement tonight.

Bob's right Dat.

Measuring from the inside lip of the tub I get 27 1/4" to 27 1/2" to the center of the pocket for the 3A.

2A...29 1/2"  A substantial difference.  I guess you could move the pocket forward to accommodate the 2A top.

Why Willys?...Why?

More space for the driver, when setup as a half cab there needs to be more room.
