Title: help on front axles.
Post by: Ryan_289 on August 28, 2014, 10:42:34 AM
Im looking for help in deciding what do to with my front axle shafts.  It currently has bendix axles in it that had been used with dualmatic hubs and no shims.  There is a little bit of slop if you twist the shaft.  I dont know how to tell how much is too much.  I do know that the balls fell out of one side and I was able to put them all back in without lowering the center locking pin.  Im wondering if I should just bite the bullet and replace them?  I had a set of spicers in a parts jeep but the seal surface was badley pitted.  There are NOS rzeppa and spicer units available.  I think I like the idea of the spicer becasue you dont have to shim them out. The spicer ones just have the snap ring end.  Can I still use my deep dualmatic hubs and just rely on the snap ring to hold the star gear.
