hello gentleman, i have a question im hoping you can help with. my '51 cj3a has a chatter that can be heard and felt in the gear shifter while decellerating in second gear. i only have this problem in second. i have never done any work to the tranny other than seals at the time of my restoration.
thanks for any help, i enjoy reading the many questions and answers on this forum.

Under deceleration, second gear will try to come out of gear. The angle of the teeth makes it to this. Under acceleration, the gear will pull in keeping itself in gear. I suspect this is a sign of the tranny needing rebuild. My 49, pops out of second when decelerating because of the reason described above.
