Title: Skid plate ...and anchor?
Post by: ZekeD on March 20, 2013, 11:59:24 AM: My 49 C3 has this oddity....(besides the owner) Isnt the skid plate supposed to come further back and lower?

Any advice on how far back and how low?

The placement is about right. It doesn't extend under the hand brake drum.

I had to do what Mac describes also. The skid plates do take some abuse. ï¿½Better it than the tranny and TC.

Your skid plate attaches to a bolt on cross member. ï¿½It could also be pretty bent up. ï¿½I guess the transmission mount could be gone too.

Shoot a picture a little further back. ï¿½It might help us see what's happening.
