Title: maiden voyage
Post by: bretto on August 26, 2012, 10:12:01 AM
After bending fuel lines and installing them and such, I figured well this is it, time to dump some fuel in!. It didn't want to start! After much looking at this and that and that and this again, getting zapped by the coil, I found that I had all 4 sparky wires clocked wrong. I had to rotate all 4 clockwise. Tried it again and smoke filled the garage (from the engine being flooded from previous attempts).
Let it warm up to temp, dropped it into 1st dumped the clutch and off I went. Good oil. temp and such. Of course the kids had to join in. :)
Still lots to do but big day non the less.
YEAH!

Looking fantastic there, Brett!  And I see you take your pit crew right along with you - good idea.

Great pictures and nice job on the jeep. Always fun when you can involve the family like that! It might be time to buy or make a back seat, tho..They are gonna hurt if they ride liek that on the trails..lol.  :D

Congrats Brett!
Certainly has come a long ways since the first time I saw it.  And with just two visits along the way I know how detailed every step you have taken has been.  That's really a thorough rebuild to be proud of.  Anxious to see it again in person.

Great job.  The smiles on the kids faces are reward enough for all the time you spent on the jeep.  Congratulations.

Brett....that is a sharp looking Jeep and a nice/great looking family!  I'm just starting on mine and children are

grown but the wife MIGHT ride with me.  Looking at yours and then looking at mine.....I don't think so,  it would

be nice but I've got a long way to go.  All that said, it is a joy & pleasure to see one restored!  Congratulations

and many wonderfull memories.
