Hi, I just bought new replacement seal for the knuckle. My old one was looking heavier, thicker and stronger. There was some cork maybe used for the seal itself. But anyway, it was two strong pieces of metal, easy to remove and install.
I bought the new one from Walck's. There is a rubber seal with a metal ring on one side. I guest the metal ring goes against the knuclke. Then I should put the felt and last the thin metal plate with the curve to the outside.
Thanks

I think you should call Walcks and ask them for the correct installation method. My thinking is the rubber seal should contact the knuckle ball first but it's only a guess just as yours is.

Thanks. I'm so focused on my CJ-3A that I never though to look on CJ-2A page...
I like the way of reusing the original metal plate. The new one are really thin.
I've already asked Carl Walck about it but the answer was not given in details.
A picture...tell a lot of things!
Thanks again.
