I used the bushing from the old head for the temp. sending unit. Threads were good so I cleaned it up and installed the sending unit from the new temp guage. The nut is tight but I can still wiggle the unit from side to side, not in and out.Seems like this would leak to me.??? Also all the spring bolts have castle nuts for cotter pins. They are far from being tight as you can see but this is where the cotter pin goes. Thanks for any info here. Mac,
My temp gauge wire wiggles a little also. I figured it would leak, but it doesn't. I think there may be a rubber bushing, or something similar down in there.
On the Castle bolts, mine are 5/8" from bottom to top. Yours do not look as tall as mine.
A taller castle bolt...or washers behind those will solve your problem.
By the way Mac, from another post you had concern about the large photos. Mine are quite large also, but I like them big. Shows better detail!! :o

Thanks Tim, You have saved me some time. Supposed to be 111 degrees tomorrow so my time under and around the Jeep is limited on a day like that.

Yeah, the reproduction bolts suck. I added washers to mine also.
