What do you think about the Omix 16 steel repo wheels? I need wheels for my CJ3A. I see these wheels listed as 5.75 wide sometimes and 4.5 wide other times. I wonder what it really is.

Used serviceable rims are available and usually for half the price the new rims are.

I would never buy repro wheels from Omix. As stated, find a good used one. Be patient, it took me 3 years to find the correct spare to match the 15" wheels on my '53. ;)

I see these wheels listed as 5.75 wide sometimes and 4.5 wide other times. I wonder what it really is.
The 4.5" is from the inside to inside of the rim where the tire bead goes. The 5.75" is outside to outside of the rim where the tire bead goes.
There is a set of 15 inch wheels (they were optional on the CJ-3As) on eBay right now (ends May 18, 19;49 PDT). The bid is up to $147 with $45 shipping for four. Item number: 190677773429. Like Carl said, that's half the price of new and the look to be in pretty good shape. However, if it matters to you, they are the CJ-5 style wheel. If you're not a purist the newer wheels may be even in better shape.

Thank you all for the replies. While Im no purist I do tend to put original looking parts back on my projects (cars or in this case jeep). It seems to me when you are done with the project the more original it looks the better
I do have one original style wheel at home with the jeep. The jeep came with several extra wheels but they looked like cj5s and another original looking wheel that had a cracked and was welded.
So I guess Ill start out with the CJ5 wheels and look for 3 or 4 used ones

I would avoid the Omix wheels. I needed a spare 16" wheel and I ended up finding it at the show/swap meet in Jeff City, MO a few years ago. I think I ended up paying $50 for it and it was in really good shape. I have used quite a few repro parts and it is VERY hit or miss on quality (mostly miss.....)
