Title: Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit
Post by: PGrevie on February 20, 2012, 01:45:50 PM
I'm looking for a rebuild kit for my fuel pump.  My jeep has the original dual action fuel pump with the glass bowl.  The fuel pump is in good shape, but it needs a new diaphragm.  Does anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit for this fuel pump?  I want to keep the original one with the glass bowl.  I also want to keep the wipers running on a vacuum.  I found a place in Arizona that had the rebuild kit on their website, but when I called to order, I was informed that they were sold out and don't plan to restock.

If you buy a kit be sure it has the two valves AND the diaphragm. Just replacing the diaphragm may not solve the problem, the valves have as much wear and time as the diaphragm.

The CJ3B, CJ5 and CJ6 with F134 engines used a fuel pump with vac booster and a glass bowl on top.
Walcks has the kit for that pump for $69.95  they also sell the whole pump for $83.95 (without the glass bowl)

Original dual action CJ3A pumps did not have glass bowls. You will need to get a kit specific to whatever replacement fuel pump you have. The number is usually stamped along the edge of the mounting flange.

Thank you all for the information.  I'm off work for the next three days.  Hopefully I can get it started over the weekend.  I got it turning over on her own power.  A few more things to take care of and its go time.  Hasn't been started in almost 11 years.
