Title: Timing??

Do you time a 3a the same as a 2a?  My timing window is partially blocked.

Well I've got timing, a ticka ticka ticka good timing and that brought me to you. Well, it's an old song and I just couldn't resist.  ;D

You got your answer in the CJ2A site but I'll add mine. Remove the starter, use a die grinder to enlarge the hole and make a cover plate.

Looks like your block is a newer 3A block, the inspection hole is covered because its the same block as used on the M38.  That had a different configuration.  I've got the same problem so I went to John at Midwest Military and bought a timing indicator that bolts onto the front cover. Looks just like the  arrows on a 60's chevy or ford.  Saves me a lot of headache and its right on.
