Title: Inner fender and windshield specs
Post by: macrisel on November 03, 2011, 11:19:47 AM: Can anyone post some photos of the driver's side inner fender along with some rough measurments for the holes? My old factory fender has had multiple holes drilled in it over the years and I'm trying to figure out what was mounted on it from the factory. I THINK it only had the horn and fuse block, but I'm not sure exactly where.

Also, the same thing for the inside of the windshield would be great. Again, I think only the rear view mirror and footman loop mount there, but I would like to make sure.

Does the footman loop just have screws that tap into the windshield frame or do they pass all the way through to the front?

About how far down does the rearview mirror mount?

I'm on the plane right now so no pics, but my drivers side fender has holes for the horn directly across from the center of the exhaust manifold, so pretty much dead center in the fender. ï¿½There is a support on the under side that gives the horn the support it needs to not flex the fender wall. ï¿½

I also have a set of holes at the front about 4 inches back from the grill where the headlight Block mounts. ï¿½Its not a fuse block, it has the connections for the wiring harness in the grill to wire to the harness from the dash. ï¿½I've got a couple of other holes between the horn and the firewall, I use these to secure the headlight wiring harness with some wire straps. ï¿½Hope that helps.

Also the footman loop on the windshield is on the inside of the windshield, but mine is welded in place not bolted, so there are no penetrations to the front side.

My fender is in the "just before paint" stage also. I have a couple extra holes where the horn mounts. Almost looks like it was moved up or down at one point. I'm not going to be much help on the fender, but will be paying attention when someone else helps you with hole placement.
