Hey guys, a few quick questions on seats.
First, there are some "tabs" on the wheel wells behind the seats. Are the cross bars of the seats supposed to rest on these tabs? Here is a photo of how far my cross bar sits above my tab on the drivers side but my passenger side is close to the same...

Also, is there supposed to be a nut welded to the back of the drivers seat and if so, is there supposed to be a hole in the fenderwell to bolt the seat to?
Second, how close is the front leg supposed to sit to the shifter tower cover?

Last, does the back foot of the passenger seat sit directly on the floor or is there a rubber spacer or something underneath it?

You would think so but I've never seen any that fit exactly. Others may chime in.
Also, is there supposed to be a nut welded to the back of the drivers seat and if so, is there supposed to be a hole in the fenderwell to bolt the seat to?
Mine has a bolt going through the frame and the fender well with a nut and washer underneath the fender well.
Second, how close is the front leg supposed to sit to the shifter tower cover?

This may depend on how that leg lines up to the floor in a natural set. Mine stood off the floor a tad so I put a rubber button on it. See pic below

The upper pic shows a CJ3A seat frame. You can see where the leg mounts.

Thanks Larry. Do you think the seats really need to be bolted to the fenderwells or is this just overkill? My seat frame originally had a nut and stud on it, but it was so poorly welded on I assumed it was a bubba mod used to compensate for the floor of the tub rusting out. When I refinished the seat, I ground the nut off and smoothed it over. Plus, I figured I needed all the leg room I could get! :D
Also, is there anything that goes between the seat frame and fenderwell to avoid metal on metal?

I would bolt the driver's seat frame through the fender well. The bolt actually goes through the frame and then the fender well, effectively bolting them together. No welding needed. The passenger's side is designed to pivot so, no bolt. However, an old jury-rig was to mount a slide-bolt on the floor, like used to lock doors, and slide the bolt over the frame to keep the seat from tilting forward on a hard brake.

I put a small piece of rubber between the driver's seat frame and fender well to reduce squeeks.
