Title: Jerry Can Holder
Post by: macrisel on April 24, 2017, 05:17:55 PM
Full disclosure.....I absolutely stole this idea from Nate (garage gnome).  I saw his original version of this and loved it.  This has been on my to-do list for a few years and I finally got around to getting in done this weekend.

Here is it roughed out and test fit on the back..

And here is the painted final version.  The bottle opener was my idea. [smiley=beer.gif]

I'm thinking of leaving the gas can as is and not painting it.  It was one I picked up at the Midwest reunion a few years ago and it is in great shape.  The coolest thing about though is it was produced and stamped in 1951...the same year as my 3A!
Cheers!

Nice.

A very clever way to add a Jerry Can without butchering your tailgate.

OK I'm all in on this one!!! Great Idea!  A couple of years ago I picked up an old German field kitchen, its a jerry can, insulated with a spray in substance, comes with a ladel and spoon and some small dishes.  The top of the Jerry Can is latched to the bottom at the top seam.  Really cool, now with that Can holder and the fully functional bottle opener, I've got me a new project.  Thanks!!
