I recently acquired a CJ3a that has a Mustang independent front suspension (yes it's 2WD), a small block Ford V8 with a C4 automatic trans and a Toyota 3/4 ton (6 bolt) rear. It also has a serious roll bar.
I bought it because I'm an old hot rodder and I love flat fenders.
The PO didn't know anything about it's history
Anyone have any idea why someone would build this? Any insight will be appreciated.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I learn how.

That thing sounds cool enough to build just for the sake of owning it!
Here's a pic of a pic I took nearly 20 years ago. Perhaps similar to what you have? Extra points for anyone who can guess where this was taken.

That's a cool 4WD racer.
Back in The day, I had a 1960 wagon built as a western desert racer. It had all the contemporary mods. Killer V8, 4 speed, locker diffs etc. It even had an overdrive unit in the rear drive shaft.
