Well, I went ahead and did it. I've been Jeeping since I was 14, longer if you count the rides in my dads Jeeps. I've owned military and civilian Jeeps. I've always talked about putting a machine gun and mount on my Jeeps, but money was always the deal breaker. Costs too damn much....
I'm turning 50 next month, and instead of dying my hair, buying a Porsche, leaving my wife of 20 years and going out to find the twin of Megan Fox, I decided to get a 1919a4 and pedestal mount for my 3A.
Does it belong ? Of course not. But since I decided to do mine up as an M38 clone, I figured whatdehell.
When I called my friend that I've known since I was 7 and told him, the only thing he said was, "FINALLY !!"

Post photos when done. Jim

That is awesome, the guy down the street wants me to do that with my jeep. I told him that he must have watched a few to many episodes of "Rat Pack"
Looking forward to seeing this one!

Pretty sure you mean Rat Patrol. Naturally I have both seasons on DVD and have watched them repeatedly, even if they are inaccurate as all get-out....
In fact, I joked around that I'm re-doing my 3A "ala Rat Patrol" on many an occasion ! :)

You can't be young and remember Rat Patrol. My wife and I were just talking about it the other day. Jim

Ohhhh jeez yeah I meant rat patrol!!! Haha two very different things, the rat patrol and rat pack. It does give a funny visual of Dean Martin driving a jeep and singing show tunes....

This is my Jeep with the temp mount to test fire my sons M1919 before it gets Parkerized. It's a semi auto .308 He bought a tripod mount at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot this spring and I may built a Jeep mount for it also.

More photos when done. That has to put the hurt on rabbits at 300 yds. Jim

It's at the shop to be Parkerized now. The shop owner is buying a new tank so he can get a good color on it. Richard wants it to be a dark Parkerized color like the original M1919.
When he gets it back I'll take a photo with it on the tripod.
