Title: fuel pump/filter

so my fuel pump works great (i think) and when i went to start it again i noticed the fuel filter was empty so my question is does the fuel need to stay in the filter or is it supposed to do that and if it does need to stay in there does that mean my fuel pump needs a rebuild?

If you are referring to the glass bowl on top. No. It is not supposed to be full. As long as the fuel level in the pump is at or just above the brass screen, it's fine. The air bubble is necessary.

my fuel pump and my filter and the filter is empty after a day or 2 thats what im referring to as supposed to stay with fuel in it

Have you tried putting a clamp on the top line of the filter to prevent "syphoning" from gravity?

yes there is supposed to be a clamp but that fuel line is actually for a lawnmower cause the stuff the filter came with was a bit to big and the clamps wouldnt hold it tight enough but maybe this is y its losing fuel cause the old filter held fuel
