Title: Electric Fuel Pump Addition
Post by: Tumbleweed on January 16, 2016, 07:54:47 AM
This year I will try to avoid dealing with vapor lock issues at the FCT. All my fuel lines are insulated so I know this is not the issue. I have a low pressure electric fuel pump that I would like to put in line. My plan is to only turn it on when needed like climbing hills or the first sign of sputtering. I plan on mounting it just as the line comes out of the gas tank. I will still use the mechanical pump. Anyone see any issues with running this setup?

Toggle switch or push button switch?

That's how I installed mine.  Not sure it's the "right" way, but it is "my" way and it works just fine.  I have a small pull switch which is fine, but I do wish it had a light in it that would light when "on" just as a reminder that it needs to be turned off.  Don't know for sure if a switch like that is out there though.  What brand pump did you find?  I think mine is a "Mr. Gasket".  Pretty inexpensive as I recall.
