Hi, Is it a good move to put a reset fuse on the wire going from the battery to the ign switch? If so how many amps fuse do I need? It is a 12 volt system on a cj3a with a cj3b engine. Thanks for any help. Al.

I put a fuse holder in the main feed to the electrical system. This one mounts on the starter. I also put a master cut-out switch in the starter to battery cable.
I use a 30 amp fuse. It's never blown, but I carry spares of course. I have a auto-reset 30 amp breaker that clips into the fuse holder and when I find it will give it a try....
Some day I'm going to change it to an in-line waterproof spade type fuse holder.
I think it's a good idea, as smoke is your only indication of a dead short in a non-fused system :)

Thanks for your help, I' ll give it a try. Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Thanks again Al

Here is a picture of the in-line spade fuse holder I put in the Model A Ford circuit. The setup is similar. I plan to do this to the 3a also. I don't know if circuit breakers will fit this type holder, but it's supposed to be water proof....I got this one at O'reillys....
