Title: Parking Light Rewiring
Post by: Stingray on November 29, 2015, 06:52:35 PM
Working on rewiring the grill with a new wiring harness and the parking light wires just dead end. Any tips on wiring up the original parking light sockets with the new harness? Thanks

Not clear on what yo mean.

Both kinda... The new wiring harness wires for the parking lights are just cut with no endings and the wires for the parking lights in the grill appear to be permanently made into the back of the bulb sockets that are pressed into the grill. Looks like I may have to solder the wiring harness wires into the back of the bulb sockets or ??

Figured it out. Need to push the old wire out from the back toward the front of the bulb socket, unsolder the old wire from the very small bulb contact and solder the new wire to it. Easy!!!

I was going to suggest the lazy way - just splice the wires together an cover with some shrink tubing. That's what I did on mine.
