Title: Swaging rear studs
Post by: Rob G on April 07, 2019, 07:44:55 PM
So I have figured out the removal process for removing the studs from the rear hubs/drums... the hard way of course.

My question is; is it necessary to swage the new studs back in?

There is a lot of discussion about removing studs/swage, but nothing about reinstallation that I can find.

I've replaced broken studs before and they went in the old hole. I tapped mine is with a hammer. Then finished them when I put the tire back on to make sure they seated. In my opinion it worked fine. Just my two cense.
