Mike,
This topic alone is enough for a book.  There is a lot of published information on replacement tubs.  My understanding is MDJuan is the only manufacturer.  Everybody else is a distributor.

There is a long thread on updates to fix problems that have plagued MDJuan's production for decades.  Rommel came to a Reunion a few years back and over the course of several months a lot of feedback was provided.  Things were fixed.

The tubs are better now but still not perfect.  Apparently Rommel has focused his attention in another area.  I'm not sure.

To ensure you get the latest and best available, you will need to be able to decipher the manufacture date, i.e. before the updates (more manipulation will be needed) or after the updates (fewer modifications to get it to fit).

Willys Overland in Toledo has made a business out of "fixing" the tubs so they fit.  I haven't kept up with them much.

There are multiple vendors that supply the tubs.  There was even a military vendor that was doing his best to ensure his tub kits were the latest so they should be on your shopping radar.

can the cowl/firewall of a cj3a fit with the back half plus tool box of an m38 tub using the repair floor pans of a cj3a a link to a m38 tub with my idea and the reason i say my cowl is because i still want to use my heater and while the 2nd battery box is cool i dont want to give up my heater and also is the leg room the same?

the first link is if my transmission channel is still good and if not then the 2nd link is the 1 ill go with, also is there any other complete floor pans out there that are 100% finished like the 2nd link but with holes like the walcks link

Mike,
I personally don't have any experience with military vehicles but it's my understanding the tubs are all the same dimensions between these two so splicing "should" work.  I hope someone else with more knowledge confirms.

Russ Curtis is correct. Dimensionally, the M38 tub is the same as the 3A tub.  The M38 also has a glove box in the same general area as the battery box.  If your heater is a Harrison, I don't think it will fit in the standard mounting position.

Although I couldn't get your Craigslist link to work, I found the tub you referred to.  It would be a steal at $400.00.

I haven't bought one yet but I plan to in the next month or so. These are the best prices I have found, $2900 picked up in Nashville TN
