Title: Governor control hole in dash.
Post by: stony on June 04, 2019, 02:34:24 AM
I think this is one for Bob.  My early CJ3A has an apparently factory hole for the governor control.  Was this a feature on all 3As or was it not on later models.  Mine is a very early 49.

All CJ-3As had provision for the governor control.

My 48 Willys made tub has that feature. Well it did. Dad smashed it flat when he wanted that area to mount his Spartan push button turn signal switch. SO when I did my body work that got plugged and smoothed over. My Wiper switch is now going in that area.

Coincidence!  I was just going to post a pix today to try to discover the purpose of that switch.  The previous owner of my CJ3A used it to operate a small fan mounted on the steering column.  I have never used it.
