My 1949 came with some monster seats, that were welded to existing frame. Problem is, they cut off the back portion of the seat backs to make room for the new seats. I want to return to original seats, so I will have to refabricate the backs, including the hoop and the cross bands. What I need is the exact dimensions of the back of the seat. Hight and width. Can anyone take out a tape and measure their backs? Any help will be appreciated.

Dannie... will take some pictures with the tape next to the frames tomorrow after work and post them for you. Just the front seats? The backs on my seats are solid... is that what you need?

Thanks. That is what I need, so I can fabricate my own. Solid backs will work fine. Thanks.

Here are a bunch of pictures... tried to include critical dimensions. The first group is the driver seat and as you can tell from one of the pics it has a slight twist but the seat back angle measurements provided are for the side bolted to the wheel well, so should be a good reference. The driver and passenger side backs are the same. Take a look and let me know where you need more information. Good luck and sorry for the delay... sand blasting took longer than planned yesterday >:(

Excellent! Perfect. That's what I needed. Super thanks.

Hi Roger,
Your pictures have been a great guide for a 3a seat rebuild.
Im in the process of fabricating a set for a 3a.
Could you please help me with measurements and pictures of the base and the legs of the 3a front seats?
Thanks.

Just wanted to say thanks to Roger for the photos with measurements as we used them to fabricate new seats
