Anyone purchase a new MD Juan body kit in the past few months? Was wondering how the fit is. I see he has gone cold in his thread. Thanks
Are the OMIX-ADA made by MD Juan?

This isn't very encouraging at all.

I have not ordered a body kit.
Several years ago when I first bought my rusty jeep I shopped around for replacement bodies. I eventually rebuilt my old tub.
At that time there were only a few direct importers from MDJuan. Everyone else got their body kits through Omix-Ada.
Ron Fitzpatrick may still be a direct importer and I think they may be able to answer any questions you may have. They were very helpful when I was looking..

Good Luck!

That transmission tunnel problem is a real letdown for a non welder. I turn a pretty good wrench, but never took up welding, or Mig welding.
Going to pick up my frame and chassis parts tomorrow.

I didn't know much about welding either, except for a semester in high school, over 40 years ago...all stick welding then.
I bought a Mig and there was plenty of learning involved, but the end result was worth it.
There are others who have done excellent work on badly damaged or rusted tubs, but here is my effort.

Lots of good advice and info from other CJ-3a forum members..
If you do buy a tub, keep your old one until the new one is fully installed. You never know when you may have to measure for a hole or find an original bracket that still may be on the old tub...

I bought an MD Juan tub for my 3B about 4 years ago.
Just about everything fit.
Yes the trans tunnel was off but only about a half inch. I could deal with that by just opening up the hole a little.
Original fenders mated to the tub with only a little adjustment.
Of course you have to cut all the dash holes and the foot pedal holes in the floorboard.
There was NO hardware with it. We re-used the passenger seat hinges, tail gate hinges and windshield pivots from the old tub. Also the outside rear view mirror mount. Probably more that I don't remember.
But having read many stories of very bad fit, I was pretty satisfied with how close everything fit.
I would hope it's been refined even closer in the years since.
