Title: B-52 Memorial Project & Willys CJ3A Jeep
Post by: chicagotom31 on November 23, 2016, 08:18:57 AM
When my son and I purchased our jeep last December it needed a lot of work. We spent more weekends working on it than I care to remember. What started out as "dad all we need to do is fix the brakes" turned into a much more intensive project. As we spent the weekends working on it we had the goal of getting it up to the Northwoods of Wisconsin and started looking for trails online. In addition a B-52 plan crash that I remember as a kid hearing about and actually seeing a part of in the 1980's resurfaced. With the help from the University of Wisconsin we came up with the plan of creating a memorial for the crewmen who on November 18th, 1966 and our jeep played a vital role in it. It was a 24 hour 900 mile journey but we accomplished it. Video link is below. Enjoy and click the HD version. https://youtu.be/hLyxlN1HMeI

Very nice vid-thank you for your efforts to remember those who perished. My grampa was a crew chief on the B52 in Minot ND late '50s. He loved the BUFF.  Retired as CMSGT in about '66.
