Title: Engine Born Again
Post by: BMIC on November 12, 2012, 02:05:59 PM: Had to show photo's of the new arrival. Just brought this baby home from the machine shop where it has been brought back to life after spending over 50 years in fellow forum member RyanM's family barn. The block is origional to Ryan's 3A but was removed by his grandfather after he and Ryan'd dad tested unsucessfully wether a 3A could do 60 mph back in the 60's. Ryan gave it to me after mine was deemed too far gone.

Don't throw away any spare parts when you are finished with your rebuild. You are first on my call list when I need something ;D

Speaking of which, got a spare Potomac Grey tub kicking around anywhere?

Post by: BMIC on November 16, 2012, 07:56:20 AM: Tim I can't say for sure.... In my excitement to finally get the engine back last week I had not noticed the extra length of the oil pump. I can say we had only the block and crank shaft to start with. Rebuilt my old Carter carb. Got a head from KW and between KW and a local vendor ordered everything else new including the oil pump.
I am having front brake drums turned at the same machine shop and will get the info on that when I pick those up later today.
